Bell Pepper, Red - 1 ct
$2.99
All bell peppers start out green and change color as they mature. If it's not picked, a green pepper may become yellow, orange, or red, depending on its varietal. The longer the fruit stays on the vine, the sweeter it becomes and the more nutritional value it gains. Red bell peppers offer a wonderful combination of crunch and sweetness with a fruity flavor. The vibrant red flesh is thick, juicy, crisp, and succulent.
Red bell peppers are an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin A, and also contain vitamins E, K, and B6, potassium, manganese, fiber, folate, and thiamin. They also contain lycopene, which is an antioxidant that has been known to help protect the body and fight free radicals.
Red bell peppers are best suited for both raw and cooked applications such as roasting, grilling, sautéing, baking, and stir-frying.
