World of Chia Premium Fruit Spreads are naturally thickened using the wholesome goodness of chia seeds instead of industrially processed pectin, so all you taste is clean sweetness–no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial ingredients, and low in sugar.

Chia seeds have amazing properties to absorb water and turn into a gel-like substance due to the soluble fiber in the seeds. When the mucilage that surrounds the chia seed reacts on contact with water, it forms a gel that expands 10 – 15 times its volume. This natural mechanical reaction thickens our products and removes any industrial pectins that are commonly found in jams, marmalades and fruit spreads.

By thickening our jams with chia seeds INSTEAD of pectin, our products reap the nutritional benefits of the seeds while also producing a great-tasting, naturally spreadable product, without relying upon artificial or synthetic ingredients.
